We are an accredited community mental health program that assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages. We work diligently, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery. The Department sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights, and supports mental health training and research. This critical mission is accomplished by working in partnership with other state agencies, individuals, families, providers, and communities.

What to Know Before Your Appointment

  • Make sure to bring your current Insurance cards, any copayments, Proof of Income, and current medication list for each appointment.
  • We do offer a sliding fee scale. Please contact us to inquire.
  • We require 24-hour notice for canceling appointments, or a fee may be imposed.
  • We now accept Medicaid for Substance Abuse services.

Sliding Fee Scale

  • This practice serves all patients regardless of ability to pay.
  • Lawrence County Health Department will offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program to all who are unable to pay for their services.
  • Discounts for essential services are offered based on family size and income.
  • Lawrence County Health Department will base program eligibility on a person’s ability to pay and will not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
