Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with chronic and terminal illnesses. The care provided is focused on relieving symptoms and stress associated with these illnesses and establishing goals of care. Palliative care is appropriate for patients in all disease stages, and can even be provided to patients undergoing curative treatments as well as patients who are nearing the end of life. The goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for the patient and their family.

The LCHD Palliative Care Team offers home visits in Lawrence, Crawford, Richland and Wabash counties for you and your family’s comfort. The team will provide relief of symptoms and support to the patient as well as family. LCHD’s Palliative Care Team also assists with the completion of advanced directives. Palliative Care will improve your ability to manage difficult treatment regimens while helping you to better understand your condition and different choices for medical care. Providing you with the best quality of life is the LCHD Palliative Care Team’s top priority!
